The Who wrap-up their very successful U.S. tour with a show in Providence, Rhode Island on Wednesday, February 26th, and some fans that have been holding onto their old concert tickets will catch a break. Those 33-year-old tickets to “The Who concert in Rhode Island that never happened,” will get them and a guest into tonight’s concert for free. That planned concert in 1980, like tonight’s show, was a sell-out — but The Who never showed up. The remainder of their 1979-1980 tour was scrapped because of the tragedy that happened in Cincinnati, where 11 fans were killed in a crowd rush to get to the front. For more, click here.
