Gibson Admits He Has A 'Short Fuse' After A-Word Outburst

Mel Gibson faced tough questions from the French media on Wednesday over his recent crude outburst on TV - forcing the actor to admit he has a "short fuse."

American TV anchor Dean Richards was seemingly branded an "a**hole" by Gibson after the correspondent asked the star about his notorious 2006 drink driving arrest.

The Lethal Weapon actor's spokesman Alan Nierob later laughed off the allegations, insisting Gibson's remark was aimed at him - because he was pulling silly faces behind the camera.

But the 54 year old couldn't escape the controversy as he landed in Europe this week - after a French journalist told him she was scared of interviewing him because of his fiery reputation.

On the same programme, Canal+ Le Grand Journal, fellow panelist Mahloud Achour sarcastically quipped, "Did you come prepared with French curse words for French journalists?"

To which a bemused Gibson replied in a French accent, "Non!" before admitting he does have a problem with his temper: "I mean no. It usually comes out in English if I'm angry. I have a short fuse. I'm trying to work on it."
