1969 – The entire shipment of John Lennon and Yoko Ono’s album ‘Two Virgins’ was seized by authorities in New Jersey due to the full frontal nude photograph of the couple on the cover. The album was eventually wrapped in plain brown paper in record stores.
Also in 1969 – Headlining their first US Tour, Led Zeppelin perform the first of 4 nights at the Whisky a Go-Go in Los Angeles. Their opening act was Alice Cooper.
1971 – George Harrison became the first solo Beatle to have a #1 album when “All Things Must Pass” went to the top of the Billboard chart for a seven week stay.
1978 – Ozzy Osbourne rejoined Black Sabbath after quitting the band two months before. He would be fired from the band in 1979.
1985 – Ron Wood of The Rolling Stones marries his second wife, Jo Karslake, in with guests Ringo Starr, Rod Stewart, Jeff Beck, and members of the Stones (except Mick Jagger).
