Social media saves a 13 year old’s birthday.

A kid in Ontario named Odin Camus turned 13 on Friday, and was supposed to have a party with 15 friends from school.  But he has Aspergers and gets bullied a lot, and no one accepted his invitation. So his mom Melissa posted about it on Facebook, and asked her friends to send him a text on his new phone to cheer him up.  They did . . . but they also reposted it.  Then it went viral, and he got text messages from more than FIVE THOUSAND people from all over the world.  And more than 11,000 people on Twitter wished him a happy birthday . . . including Elijah Wood, Molly Ringwald, The Toronto Raptors, and the Toronto Blue Jays.  Since Odin didn’t get to have a party, his mom also posted that they were going bowling Friday night, booked a LIMO for it, and said anyone could come.  When they got there . . . HUNDREDS of people were waiting for him with presents.  Here’s a link to more on the story.
