1974 – Neil Peart makes his live debut as Rush’s drummer at a concert in Pittsburgh. The band was opening for Uriah Heep & Manfred Mann’s Earth Band that night.

2002 – Guns N’ Roses kick off their “Chinese Democracy” world tour with a show in Hong Kong. The album they are touring behind won’t be released for another six years.

2003 – The Great Northeast Blackout of 2003 occurs… forcing concert cancellations from New York to Detroit. Some of the bands canceling shows include Bob Dylan & the Aerosmith/Kiss co-headlining tour.

2004 – Charlie Watts of the Rolling Stones announced that he was being treated for throat cancer.

2012 – See if you can follow this one. John Geils, the former guitarist for the semi-retired J. Geils Band, files suit against the other band members to stop them from touring under his name… since he’s no longer part of the band.
