1969: Woodstock moves into day three, with performances by Joe Cocker; Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young; Blood, Sweat & Tears; and Country Joe & the Fish, who perform their famous “Fish Cheer.”
1974: Eric Clapton’s “461 Ocean Boulevard” reaches number one on the Album Chart, his first time topping the charts.
1989: Pete Townshend smashed his hand during a Who concert at the Tacoma, Washingston, doing a windmill guitar riff during “Won’t Get Fooled Again”. After the concert Townshend was treated at the Hospital with cuts on his finger & palm.
1991: Nirvana filmed the music video for “Smells Like Teen Spirit” in Culver City, CA. The video cost less than $50,000 to make.
1998: Carlos Santana was honored with a star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame.
2004: Chevrolet ends their 15 year association with Bob Seger whose song “Like A Rock” had been used in their commercials for its Silverado truck.
