1970: The five-day “Isle of Wight” festival kicks off in England, the great line up includes Bob Dylan, Jethro Tull, The Doors, The Who, Free, and in his last concert appearance in England, Jimi Hendrix.
1991: Kiss drummer Peter Criss filed a libel lawsuit against The Star for publishing a story which claimed he was a homeless alcoholic living on the streets of Santa Monica. They would reach an out of court settlement nearly 2 years later.
2003: Rolling Stone Magazine named Jimi Hendrix as the greatest guitarist in Rock history. Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page, Keith Richards, Chuck Berry and Stevie Ray Vaughan also made the top 10.
2016: Ann Wilson’s husband is arrested for assault after getting physical with Nancy Wilson’s 16-year-old twin sons. The Heart sisters would finish that tour using separate dressing rooms and avoiding contact. They would eventually reunite for a tour in 2019.
