1981 – MTV aired their first live concert stereo broadcast of an REO Speedwagon concert in Denver.

1987 – U2 tops the singles chart again “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For,” from The Joshua Tree, goes to the top.

1992 – While Opening for Guns N’ Roses in Montreal, James Hetfield of Metallica is injured by pyrotechnics, which burns the entire left side of his body. Metallica is forced to cut their set short. Also cutting their set short that night is Guns N’ Roses. Axl Rose leaves the stage after 15 minutes as he’s, upset over monitor problems. A near riot breaks out ensues at as fans are not pleased.
