Happy Birthday: Nikki Sixx-bassist for Motley Crue born in 1958

1968 – The Rolling Stones film their “Rock and Roll Circus” television special. Performers include The Who, John Lennon, Jethro Tull & Eric Clapton. This show is filled with technical problems is scrapped until 1996.

1972 – Genesis perform in the US for the first time as a show just outside of Boston.

1976 – During a Kiss concert in Lakeland, FL, Ace Frehley accidentally touches a short-circuited light bulb & gets electrocuted. Frehley later would recover and finish the concert. This incident inspires the song “Shock Me” which is Frehley’s first lead vocal in Kiss.

1982 – Billy Idol performs on “American Bandstand” for the first time when he plays “Hot in the City” & “White Wedding”.

2002 – The remaining dates of Guns N’ Roses’ North American tour was cancelled by promoters after a riot breaks out in Philadelphia when Axl Rose no-shows the concert. Of the 35 concerts scheduled on this tour only 16 took place.
