Happy Birthday: Eddie Vedder – Pearl Jam’s lead singer born in 1964.

1969 – Elton John meets songwriter Bernie Taupin, an arranger and producer who would become a part of his classic team for the first few solo albums.

1972 – Grand Funk Railroad’s equipment is confiscate by the bands former manager Terry Knight after a concert in Madison Square Garden. Terry had a court order that allowed him to do so.

1987 – After a long legal battle Roger Waters & David Gilmour of Pink Floyd finally reach an agreement where Gilmour could continue to use the Pink Floyd name & Waters would receive royalties for trademarks such as the flying pig & retains the rights to “The Wall”.

1996 – Motley Crue’s Nikki Sixx marries Baywatch star Donna D’Errico. They would divorce in 2007.

2009 – Metallica’s Black album “Metallica” is named the biggest selling album of the Soundscan era, selling more than 15 million copies since its release in 1991.
