1970 – ZZ Top performed their first concert in Beaumont, Texas.
1977 – The Clash began recording their debut album at CBS Studios in London. The would only be released in the UK two months later. It wasn’t until July of 1979 it would get a release in the US. The album cost around $5,000 to produce.
1978 – Van Halen released their self-titled debut album on Columbia Records. The album would go on to sell more than 10 million copies.
1998 – Guns N’ Roses singer Axl Rose was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct after allegedly threatening to punch out a security guard who was searching his luggage at an airport in Phoenix.
