1964 – The Beatles play their first US concert at the Washington Coliseum, in Washington, DC. Over 350 police were hired to keep the 8,000 wild fans under control.
1983 – The Rolling Stones concert film Let’s Spend the Night Together, opens in New York, the film receives terrible reviews.
1985 – The supergroup The Firm featuring Ex Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page and former Bad Company lead singer Paul Rodgers release their debut album.
1992 – Motley Crue fire lead singer Vince Neil. The band released a statement saying Vince had lost his passion for music and racing cars became his hobby.
1995 – Van Halen tops the album chart with their “Balance” album. It’s the last album to feature Sammy Hagar on vocals.
2007 – After being ignored by the Grammy Awards for a number of years The Doors and the Grateful Dead were given Lifetime Achievement Awards.
