1970 – The Who recorded a concert at on the campus of Leeds University in England, this album would later be released as Live at Leeds.

1972 – Steppenwolf breaks up for the first time, blaming burnout. On the same day, Los Angeles mayor Sam Yorty declares it “Steppenwolf Day.”

1986Frank Zappa appears on the TV show Miami Vice, playing a crime boss named Mr. Frankie and no the character was not a dental floss tycoon.

1987 – Bon Jovi’s Living on a Prayer begin a four week run on top of the singles chart.

2000 –  KISS announced they would do a farewell tour in makeup with all four original members and then auction off their stage props after the tour.
