1967 – Jimi Hendrix records the classic “Purple Haze” at De Lane Lea Studios in London.

1975Led Zeppelin played their first concert in 18 months when they performed in Holland as part one of two warm-up shows for their forthcoming North American tour. The set list included new songs from the yet to be released album Physical Graffiti.

1992 – Nirvana appeared on NBC-TV’s Saturday Night Live performing two songs including ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’  Also on this day their Nevermind album went to top of the US album chart.

2009Bruce Springsteen wins Best Song from a Motion Picture for “The Wrestler” at the Golden Globe Awards.

2016 – In the day after David Bowie’s passing, his music videos on Youtube Channel VEVO are viewed 51 million times, shattering the previous record of 36 million held by pop singer Adele.
