1964 – The Beatles “I Want To Hold Your Hand” reached the top of the charts in the US. That was the first of 25 number ones for the Fab Four in America.

1975 – The last Sunbury Rock Festival was held in Victoria Australia. The promoters lost a lot of money and only paid Deep Purple. AC/DC were scheduled to play after Deep Purple but a fight started on stage between road crews and AC/DC was denied using Deep Purple’s lights and PA. The Band then left the festival site without playing at all.

1991 – Paul McCartney performs on MTV’s Unplugged and includes some Beatles songs in his set. Later in the year he’ll release the performance as an album, the first artist to do so.

2004 – Bob Dylan scored a deal with Victoria’s Secret to fly to Venice, to film a TV commercial in an ancient palazzo with a Victoria Secret model.

2006 – The members of Motley Crue received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

2010 – Gene Simmons and the rest of KISS rang the closing bell at the New York Stock Exchange.
