1971 – David Bowie arrives in the United States for the first time. While he doesn’t do any performances, he does a number of interviews and creates a stir by wearing a dress to many of them.
1977 – The Punk Movement picked up steam when The Clash, sign a record deal with CBS Records worth over hundred thousand dollars. The band at the time only played about 30 gigs together.
1980 – AC/DC play their last show with Bon Scott, At the Gaumont theater in Southampton, England. The frontman would die a few weeks later after a night of excessive drinking.
2014 – Billy Joel begins his residency at Madison Square Garden, where he plays once a month as long as there is demand. A residency that continues till this day.
