1964 – George Harrison crashes his Jaguar in London while on the way to a Beatles concert in Brighton. A few fans gather wreckage as souvenirs.
1969: Blind Faith kicked off their U.S. tour with a sold out concert at Madison Square Garden which is amazing feat considering their first album wasn’t even released yet. At the end of the tour the band split up.
1979 – “Disco Demolition Night” at Chicago’s Comiskey Park goes awry, In-between games of a doubleheader hundreds of disco albums are blow up on the field. Fans become unruly and rush the field afterwards, forcing the White Sox to forfeit the second game.
1980: Electric Light Orchestra went to number one on the U.K. Singles Chart with “Xanadu” a duet with Olivia Newton-John. It would be ELO’s only number one single as in the US the band holds the record for having the most Top 40 hits, 20 without a number one single.
2007: Rod Stewart was made a Commander of the Order of the British Empire at Buckingham Palace for his services to music.
