1949: Geezer Butler-bassist for Black Sabbath-born
1991: Fourteen years after the deadly crash of Lynyrd Skynyrd’s Baton Rouge-bound aircraft, the surviving members of the band, reunited under the name “Lynyrd Skynyrd 1991,” return to the Louisiana city to kick off a new tour. Shirts sold for the event read, “Baton Rouge! After 14 years! We’re finally here…”
1992: A co-headlining tour with Guns N’ Roses and Metallica kicked off at RFK Stadium in Washington, DC with Faith No More as the opening act. They originally wanted Nirvana as the opening act, but refused due to Kurt Cobain’s dislike of Axl Rose’s “macho rock persona”.
1993: Guns N’ Roses performed the last concert of their 26 month tour in support of Use Your Illusion I and II in Buenos Aires, Argentina. It would also be their final full concert with original members Slash & Duff McKagan. It is the last time Axl and Slash share a stage until the 2016 GnR reconciliation.
1994: Gene Simmons & Paul Stanley made a surprise appearance at a Kiss convention in Pontiac, MI to reclaim Kiss costumes stolen from more than a decade ago.
