1986: Peter Gabriel hits number 1 for the first and only time with only time with “Sledgehammer”.

2004: Alice Cooper stars in a Staples back-to-school campaign. The commercial depicts Cooper as a father shopping for back-to-school supplies with his daughter who is unhappy about returning to school.

2015: In a field in Cesena, Italy, 1,000 musicians and singers play Foo Fighters “Learn to Fly” simultaneously with the hopes of attracting the band to play there for the first time in nearly 20 years. The idea works as the Foo Fighters play a show there in November later in the year.

2018: Paul McCartney returns to perform at The Cavern Club in Liverpool, where The Beatles did about 300 shows in the early ’60s. At one point during the show, he chastises the crowd for using their phones.
