Happy Birthday: Bill Berry, drummer for R.E.M., was born in 1958.

1968 – The Beatles recorded “Hey Jude” in four takes at Trident Studios in London. The song would be the first single released on The Beatles’ Apple Records.

1980 –  The Eagles performed their last concert at the Long Beach Arena. During the show, Glen Frey and Don Felder exchange words and threaten each other on stage. Afterwards, Felder smashes his guitar offstage and takes off and Glen Frey quits the band. They’ll later reunite for their Hell Freezes Over album and tour.

1981 – Journey released their seventh studio album “Escape”. It’s their first only number one album in the U.S.. It features “Don’t Stop Believin’” and “Who’s Crying now“.

2012– Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band performed their longest concert ever in Helsinki, Finland. Total set time was four hours and six minutes.
