1969 -Paul McCartney marries girlfriend Linda Eastman in London, and none of the other Beatles attend the ceremony.
1971 – The Allman Brothers Band play the first of two shows recorded for their album Live at The Fillmore East.
1980 – Billy Joel released Glass Houses, it had a harder edge to his previous albums and became his first to top the album charts.
2003 – The Chinese government ordered The Rolling Stones not to perform “Beast of Burden”, “Brown Sugar”, “Honky Tonk Women” & “Let’s Spend the Night Together” during their scheduled concerts there. Those shows were later cancelled due to the SARS outbreak.
2007 – R.E.M. and Van Halen are among those inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Only Sammy Hagar and Michael Anthony from Van Halen show up to the ceremony.
2010 – 160 people were arrest and 8 were sent to the hospital as fans without tickets attempted to crash the gate causing a riot in Bogota, Colombia. Over 1,500 police officers and four tanks were brought in to suppress the crowd.
