1984 – One of the biggest rock documentaries was released in theaters. It’s about a down on their luck metal band with exploding drummers and amps that go to 11 was released in theaters, this would be the classic, This is Spinal Tap.
1988 – U2 win their first Grammy Awards, as The Joshua Tree wins Album of the Year.
2009– To celebrate with release of their “No Line On the Horizon” album U2 begin a week long residency on the Late Show with David Letterman
