1968 – John Lennon and Yoko Ono release their album “Unfinished Music No.1: Two Virgins” album which features the couple on the cover, naked. Many record stores decide to sell in a brown paper wrapper.
1969 – The Door’s Jim Morrison was charged and jailed for “interfering with the flight of an intercontinental aircraft and public drunkenness.” The charges against him were eventually dropped.
1986 – Pink Floyd issued the statement that they would continue to use the name Pink Floyd even though Roger Waters was no longer in the band. David Gilmour, Nick Mason and Richard Wright announce that they are working on a new Pink Floyd album.
1997 – Metallica performed a free concert in Philadelphia, PA to celebrate their new album “Reload.”
