Happy Birthday: James “J.Y.” Young-guitarist for Styx born in 1949

1967 – Check out this tour line up. Pink Floyd was added to a 16-date UK tour that featured with Jimi Hendrix and The Move. The headlining Hendrix was allowed exactly 40 minutes for his set. Pink Floyd was allotted between 15 and 20 minutes per show.

1992 – See if you can follow this one. Black Sabbath opened for Ozzy Osbourne for the first of two shows in Costa Mesa, CA. However, Ronnie James Dio, who was fronting Sabbath at the time, refused to perform with the band because Ozzy wanted to reunite with Sabbath for a couple of songs during the show. So Rob Halford of Judas Priest stepped in two perform at these two concerts.

2000 – Rush’s Geddy Lee released his first solo album called “My Favorite Headache”.

2006 – Led Zeppelin was inducted into the UK Music Hall of Fame.
