1969 – Janis Joplin gets arrested in her dressing room after a concert in Tampa. She was charged for allegedly using obscene language in concert after she yelled at a policeman for trying to control the crowd with a bullhorn. The charges were later dropped after she posted bail of $504 and paid a $200 fine.
1974 – The Doobie Brothers release the single “Black Water”. It was initially the B-side to a song called “Another Park Another Sunday”. The song would later hit #1
1990 – David Bowie opened on Broadway in the title role of “The Elephant Man.”
2007 – In a charity auction, a 25-year-old man from Scotland pays $170,000 for two tickets to see the Led Zeppelin reunion show in London. The initial face value of the ticket was $255 each.
