Happy Birthday: Martin Barre-guitarist for Jethro Tull born in 1946

1970 – Elton John plays live in a recording studio that is broadcast live in a New York Radio Station. The recording is later released as 17-11-70, Elton’s first live album.

1980 – John Lennon releases his final album during his lifetime “Double Fantasy”.

1990 – David Crosby breaks his shoulder, left leg & ankle in a motorcycle accident in Los Angeles. Ouch

1993 – After a performance with Deep Purple in Helsinki, Ritchie Blackmore quits Deep Purple for the second and final time.

2003 – A stripped down version of the Beatles “Let It Be” album as released as “Let It Be… Naked”. Paul McCartney produced the album which was a stripped-down version of the initial release without Phil Spector’s strings.

2007 – The Eagles score their first number one album in 28 years “Long Road Out of Eden”.
