1969 – The Beatles release the album Abbey Road. The album would hit number 1 & sell twelve million copies in the U.S. alone
1976 – David Bowie retreats to West Germany in an attempt to clean up his addictions. During this time he works with Iggy Pop and writes the song “Heroes” during his stay.
1987 – Def Leppard kick off the tour in support of “Hysteria” in Glens Falls, NY. When the tour ends a year later the band would have played 243 concerts, 172 in North America alone.
2004 – Bruce Springsteen, R.E.M. & John Fogerty kick off the “Vote for Change” tour in Philadelphia.
2011 – After 28 years of dating and two children together, Gene Simmons (62) and Shannon Tweed (54) finally get married.
