1968 – Big Brother and the Holding Company top the Album Chart for the first and only time with “Cheap Thrills”. Their lead singer was Janis Joplin.

1975 – Rod Stewart performed his final concert with The Faces at Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale, NY.

1979 – During Jethro Tull’s concert at Madison Square Garden in New York City, a fan throws a rose to singer Ian Anderson. The rose strikes his face & the thorn tore his right eye.

1994 – MTV airs the reunion concert of Led Zeppelin’s Robert Plant and Jimmy Page, entitled “Unledded”. The album featured a number of reworked Zeppelin songs that were performed with an Orchestra. It was the highest rated broadcast on MTV at the time. The performance would later be released as “No Quarter”.
