1965 – The Who record one of the most influential rock songs ever as they record “My Generation” in London.

1973 – The Rolling Stones album “Goats Head Soup” tops the Album Chart.

1986 – Neil Young headlines the first Bridge School benefit concert. The all-acoustic concert – features performances by Bruce Springsteen, Don Henley, Tom Petty, and a reunited Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young – turns into an annual event to support a school founded by Neil and his wife.

2008 – In a video message on his website, Ringo Starr announces he no longer has time to sign autographs and asked fans not to send him any mail at all.

2016 – Bob Dylan win the 2016 Nobel Prize for Literature, “for having created new poetic expressions within the great American song tradition”. He’s the first songwriter to win that award.
