Born on this day: Leslie West-guitarist for Mountain born in 1945

1964 – A band called The High Numbers failed an audition with EMI Records. Things worked out pretty good for that band down the road after they became better known as The Who.

1969 – Led Zeppelin release “Led Zeppelin 2”, the influential album features “Whole Lotta Love” and “Heartbreaker” and has sold over 12 million copies.

1976 – Bob Seger releases his classic “Night Moves” album. The album features “Rock and Roll Never Forgets”, “Mainstreet” and the title track. The album has sold over six million copies in the U.S.

1990 – Pearl Jam performed their first concert in Seattle. The band’s name at the time was Mookie Blaylock.  Members of Soundgarden and Seattle Mariners pitcher Randy Johnson are in the audience at the show. https://youtu.be/t4o6vy2B8DU?t=18 

1996 – Journey releases the album “Trial by Fire”, it’s their last album with Steve Perry & Steve Smith as part of the band.
