1967 – The Jimi Hendrix Experience record a session for the UK BBC radio show ‘Top Gear.’ Stevie Wonder jammed with Hendrix as he was also appearing on the show.
1969 – George Harrison finally gets hit A Side. As the Beatles released “Something” and “Come Together” on a 45. The single would hit #1 in the states.
1994 – Glenn Frey has surgery for diverticulitis, causing the Eagles to postpone dates on their Hell Freezes Over tour.
2005 – At a Rolling Stones concert in Charlottesville, the concert was stopped 8 songs into the Stones’ set after police received a bomb threat targeting the stage area. After a 45 minute search of the stage, the concert resumed.
2019 – Cream’s drummer Ginger Baker passed away at the age of 80.
2020 – Eddie Van Halen passed away after a long battle with cancer at 65.
