1977: Rush released their fifth studio album “A Farewell to Kings” became the bands first album to sell a million copies in the U.S. The album featured “Closer to the Heart“.
1980: Fleetwood Mac end a 9-month tour in support of their “Tusk” album at the Hollywood Bowl. Lindsey Buckingham announces it’s Fleetwood Mac last show for “a long time.” He’s right as the band doesn’t play live again for over two years.
1983: The Clash fired guitarist Mick Jones due to his “problematic behavior and divergent musical aspirations”.
1988: “The Rock N’ Roll Cuisine” cookbook is published, featuring 95 recipes from various musicians including Yoko Ono’s “Dream Soup” Mick Jagger’s shrimp curry and Weird Al Yankovic’s peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Yum!
2011: Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong is thrown off a Southwest airlines flight after not taking too kindly to a request by a flight attendant who asked him to pull up his sagging pants. Southwest released a statement apologizing for the incident.
