1969 – John Lennon and the Plastic Ono Band made their live debut with Eric Clapton on guitar in Toronto. Other acts on the bill included The Doors and Alice Cooper. During Alice Cooper’s set, a chicken made its way onto the stage and Cooper threw it over the crowd expecting it to fly. It didn’t, it plummeted into the audience.
1993 – Nirvana released their third and final studio album “In Utero”. The album would sell over five million copies in the U.S
2000 – In a total Rock Diva moment, Elton John threw a tantrum before taking the stage for a sold out concert in Portugal. He was unhappy that some of the audience were slow to leave a VIP dinner event & left on his private jet without playing a note.
2005 – Jimi Hendrix’s boyhood home is saved from destruction in Seattle after his estate and the city agree to renovate the building and turn it into a community center.
2019 – Eddie Money passed away at the age of 70
