1975 – David Bowie gets his first number one single in the US as “Fame” tops the charts. John Lennon provided background vocals for & co-wrote that song with Bowie.
1979 – During a Clash concert at The Palladium in New York City, bass player Paul Simonon get frustrated because the crowd isn’t standing, he smashes his bass on stage. The photo is later used as the cover of their London Calling album.
1980 – Queen tops the album chart for the first and only time with “The Game”. The album would spend 5 weeks on top of the charts
1992 – Pearl Jam play a free concert at Magnuson Park in Seattle where they register thousands of fans to vote in the upcoming presidential election.
