1980 – Led Zeppelin’s John Bohnam passed away after a night of excessive drinking. He was 32 years old.

1981 – The Rolling Stones kicked off their world tour in support of “Tattoo You” in Philadelphia, PA. The tour was sponsored by Jovan Musk. It was the first rock and roll tour to have a sponsor.

1990 – Dave Grohl, auditions for Nirvana and gets offered the job immediately.

And 3 years later in 1993: Nirvana performs two songs on Saturday Night Live.

2006 – Steven Tyler makes a cameo appearance on “Two and a Half Men” playing himself as a noisy, obnoxious neighbor.

2017 – Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers play their last concert at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles. The show is the last stop on their 40th Anniversary tour.
