Finlay Preslandbyrne, Navy

Petty Officer Second Class Finlay Preslandbyrne was nominated by his spouse Lee, who shared the following about him: “Petty Officer Finlay Preslandbyrne began his service in the Navy about 10 years ago and has since then shown an unwavering commitment to the service. He has been a remarkable leader in promoting physical fitness amongst his colleagues and families where he has consistently achieved an “outstanding” rating on his physical readiness tests. He even arrowheaded a physical program for sailors prior to his recent relocation to Norfolk.

“Photo of his dad visiting to say goodbye before deployment with USS Mcfaul (who just faced on Iranian navy earlier this month in the Middle East), so we’re always worried about him, but proud too!” – Lee

Moreover, Petty Officer Preslandbyrne graduated with honors and was first in his class in his ET course here last month, which has prepared him for deployment to Norfolk. He has proven his technical proficiency and dedication to his craft, which will undoubtedly make him a valuable asset to the Navy on his upcoming deployment.

I would also like to highlight that, in addition to his exceptional work as a sailor, Petty Officer Preslandbyrne is an amazing father, husband, and son. He comes from a family of IT experts and has inherited his father’s passion for technology. Despite his busy schedule, he always makes time for his family and sets an example for us all with his devotion to his family and his work. He is a true role model for his fellow sailors and an asset to our Navy community.”

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE, FINLAY!
