George Dail, Retired US Coast Guard

George was nominated by his son Joshua:

About my hero. He joined the US Coast Guard in December, 1988. He missed my brothers birth in 1990 because he was in A-School because he got his orders prior to knowing when my mom was going to have him. He served in multiple staff/operational positions throughout the US Coast Guard. My reason for voting him as a hero. He’s a very tough man. Military wise and father/family wise. If it wasn’t for him, my mom brother and I wouldn’t have anything. He is tough as nails and always has been selfless and courageous to sacrifice what he can. He’s served so now I would like for him to be recognized. He retired in 2009. Now he’s in college full time and still running me and my brother around, while assisting with my moms childcare. I love you my hero, and that will never change.
