Griffith Freeman, US Navy Retired

Michael was nominated by Caitlin Freeman

My husband served 5 years as a Riverine in the Navy and then was medically separated/honorably discharged from a shoulder injury that was obtained overseas. I am currently working part time and in full time nursing school. While I am doing that my husband, Griffith, has had to go above and beyond. Griffith works overtime every week to support our family while I am in school. He gets up in the middle of the night with our daughter and soothes her back to sleep almost every night. He watches over her as I am studying, he cooks dinner and he also takes her to and from daycare on some days. Because of our schedule he doesn’t have much time to give back to the community, but he gives it all and more to his family. He has not once complained and always has a positive outlook on life. His dad recently passed away from stomach cancer and he was able to deal with the passing of his father by trying his best to be a better man everyday.
