Jacob was nominated by his wife Sarah. It is hard for me to pick one thing about my husband for this nomination. There are so many many things that he does daily, picking one or two are difficult.
I know that he is an amazing leader. One that sailors strive to be like. He is patient and teaches them very well, he is ensuring that a job is done correctly the first time. He answers questions for them, often he knows it offhand, when he doesn’t he looks into it and provides them the resources or the answers that they need. He never asks for anything in return for this, just that they strive to learn and to be the best leader that they can be when their time comes. He is a kind leader and does the best to ensure that his sailors get what they deserve and that everything is done fairly.
He certainly doesn’t see a lot of this in himself and I wish that he did, then he would see just how much of an amazing person that he is and all of the things that I love about him. He is hardworking and dedicated to the job, he does his best to make sure that everything gets done during the day, he goes above and beyond in everything that he does. I am proud of him every day for what he does, and for the person that he is while he does it. I have never seen someone so humble about what they do on a daily basis. Everything that he has accomplished and achieved has not gone to his head, rather he hasn’t let it affect him.
He is stronger then he realized, a tough leader when needed, and a joker when the situation is appropriate and needed, he brings so much to the Navy, and never asks for credit for it.
