Sergeant Johnny Baines was nominated by Evangeline, who had the following to say about him: “John is a military man to his core. As the son of a Chief Warrant Officer 2, he was inspired to serve his country in the Army. After separating from the military, he continued to serve his country through work that allowed him to partner with the military. Later, John’s heart for service led him to become a member of the Civil Service. He has always maintained a connection to the military and his love of all things military has only grown stronger over the years. It would be impossible to find anyone who is more dedicated to the mission than John. He always places the needs of his country and her people above his own. He is eager to teach and share his knowledge with others. Even as a Civilian, he always remains “inspection ready” at all times. Those who are blessed enough to know him and love him are better for it.”
