Mariah Smith, Army

Sergeant Mariah Smith was nominated by her husband James, who had the following to say about her: “My wife loved being in the Army and being a SGT. When our daughter was born in 2016, she got out of the Army so I could continue my service. I have 17 years In the Army now. Mariah loves service members so much, she went to college at Bryan & Stratton and got a job working at the hospital on Fort Eustis. She is an amazing woman. Our daughter needed open heart surgery on 28 March 23 and Mariah was the rock that kept the family strong. My daughter has healed perfect since then and Mariah is back to work in the pediatrician wing of McDonald’s Army health center. She does so much for everyone and doesn’t get the recognition. Even if she’s not picked, I just wanted to let someone know, how amazing she is.”
