Military Hero

Military Hero
Petty Officer Second Class Finlay Preslandbyrne was nominated by his spouse Lee, who shared the following about him: "Petty Officer Finlay Preslandbyrne began his service in the Navy about 10 years ago and has since then shown an unwavering commitment to the service. He has been a remarkable leader in promoting physical fitness amongst his colleagues and families where he has consistently achieved an "outstanding" rating on his physical readiness tests. He even arrowheaded a physical program for sailors prior to his recent relocation to Norfolk. [caption id="attachment_124842" align="alignnone" width="740"] "Photo of his dad visiting to say goodbye before deployment with USS Mcfaul (who just faced on Iranian navy earlier this month in the Middle East), so we’re always worried about him, but proud too!" - Lee[/caption] Moreover, Petty Officer Preslandbyrne graduated with honors and was first in his class in his ET course here last month, which has prepared him for deployment to Norfolk. He has proven his technical proficiency and dedication to his craft, which will undoubtedly make him a valuable asset to the Navy on his upcoming deployment. [caption id="attachment_124839" align="alignnone" width="768"] "(Finlay) spending time with his youngest daughter." - Lee[/caption] I would also like to highlight that, in addition to his exceptional work as a sailor, Petty Officer Preslandbyrne is an amazing father, husband, and son. He comes from a family of IT experts and has inherited his father's passion for technology. Despite his busy schedule, he always makes time for his family and sets an example for us all with his devotion to his family and his work. He is a true role model for his fellow sailors and an asset to our Navy community." THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE, FINLAY!

“Despite his busy schedule, he always makes time for his family and sets an example for us all with his devotion to his family and his work. He is a true role model for his fellow sailors and an asset to our Navy community.”

William Noddin, Navy

“He is always supporting his job, is a great mentor and even volunteers with the Seacadets in his spare time. He is always giving to others and would be a great person to get some recognition back for all he does.”

William Rowlands, Navy

“One thing for sure about this man he sure loves this radio station! He is hardworking and dedicated. Always goes above and beyond of what’s asked of him. He is honorable and such a true gentleman. I’m proud to call him my friend and anybody would be lucky to have him as one themselves. I’m honored to know he is part of the Navy that watches over our country and ensures our safety.”

Ross Stowers, Navy

ATC Stowers is a proud member of the US NAVY but an even more proud father and husband. The dedication and balance he shows to his career and Homelife are unmatched

Andrew Schurr, Navy

“Has been a leader in his unit and received Admiral Accommodation twice in his career. He’s a good family man and respected in his community.”

Chris Grau, Navy

“Chris is an IS1 currently serving in the Navy with 11 years in so far. He’s an awesome husband and dad to our three kids (ages 4,7,8). We’ve been through countless ship underways, detachments and deployments. He literally is the hardest working person I know and will always support his shipmates in the process. Chris is so passionate about his work and always provides a good example. So thankful for our hero, Chris!”

David Stephens, Army

“Dad served overseas in Korea along the DMZ, and in Germany. He mostly, however, spent most of his time between Fort Worth in Texas and the Mojave desert. I am nominating him because of the amazing stories he’s told us about all of the places he went to, and life as a member of our armed forces.”

Erol Sahin, Marines

“He is amazing. He immediately began working himself to death after leaving the marines, he has been an inspiration to me and I’m proud to call him my boyfriend.”

Mariah Smith, Army

“She is an amazing woman. Our daughter needed open heart surgery on 28 March 23 and Mariah was the rock that kept the family strong. My daughter has healed perfect since then and Mariah is back to work in the pediatrician wing of McDonald’s Army health center. She does so much for everyone and doesn’t get the recognition.”

Ryan Ross, Navy

For a guy from a very small town in Kansas, he has been able to travel all over the world with his deployments and take care of his family. At National Armed Forces Day I say thank to all those currently serving and those that have served our great United States.
