William Taylor, Retired US Navy

William was nominated by his son, William:

This is my dad. He doesn’t do “email” or even computers so I had to give you my email. He was a Navy guy. They retired him for medical reasons just shy of 20 years as I recall. He was a corpsman and later a lab tech. After retirement he stayed in the field and for a while was one of the guys using the electron microscope at the Naval Hospital. When he finally got away from medical work he gravitated eventually to his passion-history- and became the historian/archivist for the Navy Chaplin Board. He ran the archive here at NOB until it closed when the military combined the branches in a single archive building in…..I forget where. South Ccarolina maybe? But he was given title as an honorary Chaplin and the new building bears his name. William E Taylor Sr….my pop. He served well and absolutely hated leaving the Navy. I’m proud as hell to be his son.
