MMAC Xavier Knapp was nominated by his spouse Amanda, who had the following to say about him: “I could not be prouder of the man I met in Washington state 4 years ago. Xavier came of the fast attack sub Connecticut shortly after the grounding that he was onboard for which caused serious damage to the ship and some of the crew aboard it. He is so hard working and always ready to lend a hand or the shirt of his back. Xavier is a fantastic role model to the junior sailors he works with, and he strives to be the person they call if they are in a pinch. A few weeks after we moved here, we drove out at 930 PM to meet one of his sailors 45 minutes away at Lowes to load up a fridge and take it an hour back to the sailor’s house, as his families had gone out at work and his young wife and kids needed a replacement ASAP. That’s just one of the many things he does constantly that makes him the hero I know him to be, and will always be.”
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE, XAVIER!
