On this day in 1976 a television show hit the airwaves that would change that face of television and have a huge influence on my life, it was the Gong Show. Hosted mainly by Chuck Barris during it’s run, the format mocks talent contests and was so popular it actually aired twice a day, something unheard of in the 70s.
