1980 – A member of the New Jersey State Assembly introduced a resolution to make Bruce Springsteen’s “Born to Run” the official state song. Somehow the resolution didn’t pass.
1982 – Van Halen released their fifth album Diver Down, the features “Oh Pretty Woman” and “Dancing in the Street”.
2018 – Dire Straits gets inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Band member Mark Knopfler skips the ceremony, nobody inducts them and the members who do show up for the ceremony do not perform.
