1966 –  Buffalo Springfield make their concert debut, opening for the Byrds in San Bernardino, California.

1972 – Billy Joel plays a concert at in Philadelphia which is broadcast by a local radio station. After the show Joel builds a following and ends up getting a record deal with with Columbia Records.

1974 – Lynyrd Skynyrd releases their second album, Second Helping featuring “Sweet Home Alabama” and “Call Me The Breeze”.

1982 – Billy Joel is injured when a car hits his motorcycle in Long Island. He has surgery on his hand and stays in the hospital for over a month for therapy.

2001 – Punk pioneer Joey Ramone, the Ramones lead singer, died after long battle with cancer at the age of 49.

2015 – The Who began its 50th anniversary tour.
