1975 – Alice Cooper’s first television special Welcome to my Nightmare: The Making of a Record Album aired in the US
1981 – Yes announce that they are breaking up. Bassist Chris Squire & drummer Alan White would rehearse with Jimmy Page for a project to be called XYZ which never materialized.
1987 – MTV finally acknowledges the existence of heavy metal with the debut of Headbangers Ball, a weekly show dedicated to the genre.
1992 – Def Leppard hits number 1 when Adrenalize begins a five week run on top.
1996 – Bush’s Gavin Rossdale is shirtless on the cover of Rolling Stone, but the article inside the magazine trashes the band, calling them “Nirvanawannabes.”
2013 – Rush and Heart are inducted into the Rock and Roll hall of Fame.
