1969: The Chicago Transit Authority release their self-titled debut album. They would later shorten their name to Chicago after the Transit Authority in the Windy City filed suit against the use of their name.
1973: Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon album hits number 1 for its one and only week at the top of the charts. Amazing considering the album would you remain in the top 200 for years.
1978: Cheap Trick record the Cheap Trick at Budokan album during a two night stand at the Budokan Arena in Tokyo
1978 – the movie FM featuring appearances from REO Speedwagon and Tom Petty. The Soundtrack featured Steely Dan, the Eagles and Bob Seger and did much better than the movie which came in went in theaters.
1984: Bon Jovi makes their debut appearance on U.S. television on American Bandstand
1987: What a treat this had to have been. During a flight from Miami to Boston, Ozzy Osbourne bought three rounds of drinks for everyone on the plane and sang “Crazy Train” over the PA system.
1990: Guns N’ Roses singer Axl Rose marries girlfriend Erin Everly, at the Cupid Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas. Their marriage would be annulled 8 months later. She was the inspiration for the song “Sweet Child O Mine”
2017: Soundgarden launch what will be their final tour with Chris Cornell in Tampa, Fl.
