1974: Neil Peart replaces John Rutsey as the drummer for Rush.
1984: After previous attempts to shoot a video for “Dancing In The Dark,” failed. Bruce Springsteen does it live at his concert in St. Paul, Minnesota. The video features a then, 19-year-old Courteney Cox dancing on stage with Bruce at the end of the video.
1985: Mick Jagger & David Bowie recorded their cover of “Dancing in the Street” and then filmed the video in a 12 hour span. Proceeds from the sale on the single went to the Live Aid charity.
2000: Vandals pull up the grave of Lynryd Skynyrd front man Ronnie Van Zant & the ashes of guitarist Steve Gaines in Jacksonville, Fl. Their remains were shortly moved to an undisclosed burial site.
